My Philosophy
Growing up, I was always captivated by the art of building and creating, with a deep admiration for architecture, art history, and the natural world. I was fortunate to be raised in a small San Diego town immersed in art and natural beauty, which shaped my appreciation for creativity and craftsmanship. From a young age, I understood the value of preserving beauty, whether through woodworking, painting, or floral preservation. My philosophy revolves around cherishing life’s fleeting moments and transforming them into lasting treasures.
I began honing my craft early, attending junior high and high school equipped with the finest woodworking shops in Southern California. I excelled in woodworking and was awarded a full scholarship in 1995 to pursue fine woodworking in college. As a journeyman carpenter, I traveled across the USA, developing my skills and deepening my love for the art of creation. Later, I expanded my artistic pursuits into painting, antique restoration, and experimenting with innovative techniques like resin work. My expertise now lies in floral preservation—combining craftsmanship with creativity to transform flowers into timeless functional art.
My approach blends technical skill with heartfelt artistry, focusing on preserving memories and creating one-of-a-kind pieces. Inspired by my passion for learning and exploration, I began experimenting with resins and floral preservation, adding pressed flowers to furniture and later dedicating myself fully to the art. I believe in the power of transforming what might be discarded—like flowers from a special occasion—into cherished heirlooms that can be passed down for generations. Each piece I create is designed to honor the beauty of a moment, combining nature’s elegance with functional art.
